2021 Meeting + New Website

We have finalized plans for the 2021 virtual reunion. It will be held on Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24. This is the schedule:


Friday, April 23: 7:00-8:30 pm

• 7:00 p.m.– PowerPoint presentation (45 min) “The Invisible Wounds: A Perspective on Mental Health Issues During the Civil War” by Hilda Koontz.

• 8:00 p.m. – Highlights of a couple of new items in the Sultana

Disaster Museum.


Saturday, April 24: 1:00-3:00 pm

• Video presentation (35 min.) “The Sultana Disaster Museum: A Tribute In The Making” by Mark and Mike Marshall (filmmakers of the wonder Sultana documentary “The Sultana Remembered.”)

• Video presentation (12 min) “Remembering Sultana: A Memorial,” drone video of Sultana sites by Lt. Col. Brandon Ford.

• PowerPoint presentation (45 min) “The Sultana: The First Two Years” by Gene Salecker.

And then the other big news is our new website. If you are reading this post, you have found our website. We will be updating it and adding some more information and resources in the upcoming weeks.
